Abstract: Surface quadrilateral meshing plays a fundamental role in geometric modeling field.
This work introduces a general method for surface quad meshing based on holomorphic differentials.
In reality, all surfaces are Riemann surfaces, and have holomorphic differentials. The horizontal
trajectories and vertical trajectories form two traversal foliations of the surface, which induce
quadrilateral meshing. For the practical purpose, special holomorphic differentials need to be
selected, whose horizontal trajectories are finite. In this talk, we introduce the computational
algorithms in depth and briefly cover the theoretic background.
