Prof. Tien-Yien Li is a famous mathematician. He is a University Distinguished Professor of Mathematics at Michigan State University and a Guggenheim Fellow. Li and co-author James Yorke published a paper in 1975 entitled "Period Three Implies Chaos," in which the mathematical term chaos was coined. He is also known as his work on solving polynomial systems with homotopy method. Dr. Jin-San Cheng works also on polynomial system solving. He invites Prof. Li to visit the lab.
During his visit, he will give the talk " Mixed Volume Computation and Solving Polynomial Systems".
