4th International Workshop on Mathematics and Algorithms for Computer-Aided Manufacturing, Engineering and Numerical Control (MAMENC2014) was held at the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences International Conference Center (Huairou) on 23-25 October 2014. The conference was invited to New Zealand, Canada, Thailand, Russia and other countries of the universities and research institutes, as well as domestic, Huazhong University of Science and Technology;Shenyang Institute of Computing Technology, CAS; Shenyang Institute of Automation, CAS; Zhejiang University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics University, Dalian University of Technology, Northwestern Polytechnical University, China University of Petroleum ,more than 60 teachers and students to participate.

This conference was presided by Prof. Hongbo Li (Director of the Department of Advanced Manufacturing of NCMIS, Director of KLMM) , Prof. Hongbo Li hosted an opening statement. Professor Xun W Xu of University of Auckland, professor Stanislav S. Makhanov of Thammasat University, professor Kaan Erkorkmaz of University of Waterloo, professor Dong Yu of Shenyang Institute of Computing Technology and Xiaoshan Gao of Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, respectively,give plenary report of their own research fields.

MAMENC2014 is hosted by the KLMM, Academy of Mathematics and Systems Science, CAS, funded by the NCMIS; AMSS,CAS; ISS,CAS;KLMM,CAS. The conference promotes exchanges and cooperations among research institutes at home and abroad in the field of digital manufacturing, plays an important role in integration of cross areas of academic research between mathematics and advanced manufacturing.
